The sixth annual Briana Marie Cox Memorial girls fastpitch tournament was held the weekend of May 31st through June 2nd. The USSSA-sanctioned tournament was held at Seminole Palms, Okeeheelee, Lake Lytal, and John Prince Parks. A tournament-record 91 teams from across southern and central Florida competed in 8 divisions from 8 & under through 18 & under. Despite heavy rains Friday afternoon, and again on Saturday, most of the seeding games were completed. All the elimination games were played and championships were decided on the fields Sunday afternoon. The Foundation thanks Lake Lytal Lassie League for their unwavering support of our cause without whose assistance this tournament would not be enjoying its continued growth. With growth (and rain!) comes logistical challenges. We are so proud of our sponsors, volunteers, tournament officials, and dedicated Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation staff who all played key roles in doing what was necessary for the weekend’s events to proceed.
